Terms
The agreement between you and Ghostlight. Last updated 16 August 2026.
What Ghostlight is
Ghostlight is software that community theaters use to run their own operations — scheduling, casting, call lists, auditions, and messaging. Each theater controls its own space and decides who belongs to it. We provide the software; the theater runs the theater. Using Ghostlight means agreeing to these terms.
Your account
You sign in with a link sent to your email address, or with Google. There is no password to lose, which means your email account is the key to your Ghostlight account — keep it secure, and keep your address current so sign-in links reach you. You are responsible for what is done under your account. Tell us if you believe someone else has access to it.
What a theater can see
Anything you submit to a theater — a message, an audition sign-up, an availability conflict — can be read by the people at that theater who are entitled to it, and its owners and administrators can read the messages sent through it. We say this plainly because the software cannot keep a message secret from the administrators of the organization it was sent to. Do not use Ghostlight for anything you need withheld from them.
Acceptable use
Do not use Ghostlight to harass anyone, to send bulk or commercial mail, or to submit false information through a contact or audition form. Contact details you reach through Ghostlight are for the production you are working on — not for recruiting, soliciting, or any other list. Do not attempt to reach data that is not yours, to disrupt the service, or to work around the limits it places on your account.
Your content
What you write stays yours. You give us only the permission we need to run the service: to store your content, and to display it to the people you addressed it to. We do not use it for anything else, and we do not sell it. A theater's records — its shows, its cast lists, its schedule — belong to that theater.
Availability, and changes to the service
Ghostlight is provided as it is, without warranty of any kind. We try to keep it running and correct, but we do not promise it will be available without interruption or free of faults, and it should not be your only record of anything you cannot afford to lose. Features will change, and some may be removed. We will give notice of a change that removes something you rely on when we reasonably can.
Ending your account
You can ask us to delete your account at any time — see Privacy for how. A theater can remove you from its organization, which ends your access to that theater's space but not your account. We may suspend or close an account that is being used to harm someone or to abuse the service.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, Ghostlight is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the service — including lost data, a missed performance, or a schedule that did not reach someone. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
Governing law, and changes to these terms
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Tennessee. If we change them in a way that matters, we will update the date at the top of this page and say so in the app; continuing to use Ghostlight after that means the new terms apply. Questions go to hello@ghostlighthq.com.
